"Wow! Of all the vendors we used for our wedding (including photographer, caterer, etc), DJ
Paul Young was the BEST! His communication with us was immediate and explanatory at all
phases of our wedding planning process. He was exceptional at song choices to engage our
guests, our tastes in music, and in "reading" the crowd. For example, our mother gave a
speech and referenced a song that the groom used to sing as a kid riding his big wheel; and
when her speech was concluded, DJ Paul immediately played THAT referenced song. He had
not been told prior to the speech. He did not miss a beat in his attention to detail. Truly, a
diamond in the rough in the DJ world."  -Connie A, Anoka, MN (gig ID# 1197082)

Games and stunts I’ve helped with at corporate holiday parties: Ugly Sweater Contest. Hula
Hoop Contest (I provide 3 and have special music and arm/foot movements to call out to make
it more challenging).  One large company I worked for wrote a custom version of Rudolph the
Red-Nosed Reindeer and had me sing it with a backing track- the intro listed several
employees who all entered the room wearing reindeer antlers as their names appeared in the
song…..They also had me DJ “Jeopardy Think Music” later on when they brought out a 12 foot
high game board for a 30-minute quiz show, where they provided a quizmaster who knew the
employees using my microphone.  They also had karaoke available but only one singer actually
performed, because the dancers wanted to keep dancing.   I have MC’d and DJ’d “Rock and
Roll Bingo” for 3 different company parties.  I have MC’d a Newlywed Game at a holiday party
where significant others were invited, where I went around the room asking them what they
think the other will answer to questions like “What is your favorite flavor of ice cream” and we
lined them up when it was time to reveal the answers.  I did a “Secret handshake contest”
where guests had 2 hours to find a partner and practice a handshake routine that could include
dance moves…  I did a scavenger hunt race where guests had name tags on, and I picked 3
contestants at a time to start by me, run out and find a different guest in the crowd with a name
beginning with a certain letter, and race to be first to bring one back to me.  I have MC/DJ’s the
process of bringing award recipients to the podium, where I read what the award was for and
named the winner, and at the same time I played a song snippet matching either the award
theme, the job the person had, or the person’s name.  I MC’d a video-assisted trivia game
where the company provided a slide show of various co-workers and participants had to name
them to win points.  I have done inter-department contests, where each department would
gather in a group and decide which person to send out to participate in a dance challenge,
where I would judge the best dancer in a series of song snippets that refer to dance moves…I
would play the snippet first, then the group would discuss it for 30 seconds, then I would line up
the selected dancers and play the snippet again.  I DJ’d a special crazy dance for “All New
Employees” in a hazing - style event where they were all forced to dance for an entire song
while everyone watched them and commented on their dancing skills.  My favorite routine ever
was a convention of law enforcement personnel who were told to dress up in a costume as a
super hero nobody has heard of before – My part was to bring them out onto the floor one at a
time to announce their name and superpower.   Some of them had music to go with their
superpower, or had me come up with something related to the theme.  There is a video of this
group doing various dances on my Youtube channel called “How to Rock a Convention in
